Bible 203 – The Twelve Apostles (1 credit)

This seven-week course surveys the lives of the twelve men Jesus called to be His apostles. The class will examine each apostle as he appears in the Gospels, Acts, and the epistles, along with what is known of his later life and ministry, and will give particular attention to the methods Jesus used to prepare the Twelve for the work of making disciples. Students will consider what it means to be a disciple of Jesus and how the pattern of the Twelve applies to making disciples today. Student learning will be evaluated based on weekly quizzes, assigned readings, a final exam, and a final project in which each student presents which of the apostles they most resemble and why. Students will give their final presentations over a shared meal of first-century foods.
