Course Description

Bible 212 – New Testament Use of the Old Testament (1 credit)

This seven‑week course explores how the New Testament writers interpreted and applied the Old Testament in their preaching and writing. Students will study the patterns of quotation, allusion, and fulfillment throughout the New Testament, gaining insight into the continuity of God’s work in the world across the millennia. Through lectures, readings, and discussions, we will trace key themes showing the Bible as a unified and cross‑referenced whole. Course components include weekly lectures and quizzes, assigned readings, in-class discussion, a project analyzing a New Testament use of an Old Testament passage, and a comprehensive final exam.
