Course Description

Theology 101 – Christian Theology I (3 credits)

This course covers 3 main topics in relation to Christian Theology: The Doctrine of the Word of God, The Doctrine of God, and The Doctrines of Christ and the Holy Spirit. Class time will consist of lectures on these various topics. Evaluation will be based on completion of the assigned reading material, chapter review questions, weekly quizzes, a mid-term examination, a final examination, and a final project (6-8 page paper on aspects of a personal statement of faith).

Michael JonesTheology 101 Instructor

Michael R. Jones is originally from the deep South and has lived in Metro Detroit since 2000. He is a graduate of William Tyndale College, Michigan Theological Seminary, Moody Theological Seminary – Michigan, where he received the Faculty Award in Systematic Theology, and the University of Chester where he wrote his dissertation on Paul’s theology of suffering. He has served as pastor of Zion Baptist Church in Taylor, MI since 2000 and is a long-time board member of the largest food pantry in Michigan. He and his wife, Tondra, have two grown children.
